Armenian audience had welcomed and had loved the festival
The idea of festival was born in January 2008 during "Step into the Dialogue" project supported by British Embassy in Armenia.

The goal of festival is to encourage the interest of Armenian audience to neighbor Turkey by means of acquaintance contemporary short films (documentary, fiction, animation, experimental); by means of acquaintance with the authors and personages of films - peoples, their views and their troubles.

The mission of festival is promotion the tolerance and dialogue based on overcoming the stereotypes and the tunnel vision.

The films of festival were found with the help of our colleagues in Turkey during the Festival on Wheels (Kars, 2007) and from Istanbul Kisa film festival collection.

The Armenian Jury composed of 12 human rights school students,14-20 years old. They made the final selection by reaching a consensus and the program of festival, which include 7 short film in various gender was approved.

Festival was started at March 13, 2009 in Yerevan. The opening was planned in Yerevan Theatre and Cinema Institute, but some troubles were arisen (the half hour before the viewing the electricity of the building was turn off, accord to explanation of administration there was a technical problem). So it was decided to change the location to other place – the art center “Kenac Tun” (“Home of Life”), and the audience, mostly students, gathered for viewing walked in this “new home” of festival. The festival was continued in State University (March 17), cinema theatre “Moskow” (March 19,20, 21). And later four additional viewings were organized in NGOs and educational centers.

“Audience Sympathy Prize” was the only one nomination of festival. Audience had taken part scrupulously in the process of voting. The he winner film, which had got a majority vote will be announce at Festival-2010. The author will be invited to Yerevan for prize ceremony.

Armenian audience had welcomed and had loved the festival. Festival events had been widely reported on television and the mass media.
